FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT-ROSENBAUM HOUSE
The Rosenbaum House is the only Wright-designed structure in Alabama. Stanley and Mildred Rosenbaum were the sole owners and, with their four sons, the only occupants of the house from its construction in 1939-40 until the City of Florence acquired the site in 1999.
Constructed of cypress, glass, and brick, the house features many hallmarks of Wright’s Usonian design, including flat, multi-level roofs, cantilevered eaves and carports, natural materials, and large windows. The Rosenbaum House includes many pieces of the original furniture, also designed by Wright.
The City of Florence received the 2004 Wright Spirit Award in the Public Domain from the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy for the preservation of this excellent example of a Usonian style building.
