History of the Choctaw Nation – Lindsey Bilyeu

The Florence Indian Mound Museum, in partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority, is sponsoring a virtual speaker series as a part of an effort to raise awareness about looting in the Shoals area. The Shoals Archaeological Stewardship Virtual Speaker Series will feature a different presentation each month.

The history of the Choctaw Nation and the important sites that were left on the landscape of the southeastern United States and Oklahoma is rich in knowledge, culture, and tradition. These sites are still of upmost importance to the Choctaw Nation and it is their mission to protect these sites and the knowledge that they possess for our future generations.
