The Florence Indian Mound Museum, in partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority, is sponsoring a virtual speaker series as a part of an effort to raise awareness about looting in the Shoals area. The Shoals Archaeological Stewardship Virtual Speaker Series will feature a different presentation each month from March through October. On May 7th we will have a panel discussion on what to do if you find an artifact while out on public land. Panel members include archaeologists from TVA and the State of Alabama, the Florence Mound Museum, and Tribal representatives. The discussion can be viewed at the following link on Friday, May 7th at 12 pm: tva.com/thousandeyes
