Artistic Renderings of Youth 2023 exhibit opens

Artistic Renderings of Youth is a juried and judged exhibit open to all 7th through 12th grade students from Colbert, Franklin, and Lauderdale counties. The 2023 AROY exhibit will open March 20th and be up until April 28th. The reception will be held at Kennedy Douglass Center for the Arts on Thursday, March 23rd, from 5:30-8:30pm.

Founded by Florence art educator Jerry Foster, Artistic Renderings of Youth presents artwork from 7th through 12th grade students within Colbert, Franklin, and Lauderdale counties. The exhibit is coordinated by middle school and high school art teachers who continue to cultivate an appreciation for art in their students as well as in the community.

As a juried exhibit, students have the opportunity to receive awards such as the Jerry Foster Avant Garde Award, the Ronnie Riner Memorial Drawing Award, and scholarships from the University of North Alabama.
